Cleeve Meadow participate in Operation Encompass, a national initiative that helps to safeguard children/young people who may have been exposed to domestic abuse.
If a child/young person has been present when a domestic abuse incident has occurred and the police have been called, the Metropolitan Police will notify the school designated safeguarding lead that such an incident has occurred. This will be done as early as possible in the morning and allow the school to silently support the child/young person.
“Operation Encompass directly connects the police with schools to ensure better outcomes for children who are subject or witness to police-attended incidents of domestic abuse. Rapid provision of support within the school environment means children are better safeguarded against the short-, medium- and long-term effects of domestic abuse”.
