Grand Opening of Juliet's Coffee Shop
On Thursday 16th October we held the Grand Opening of Juliets Coffee Shop.
We were delighted to welcome The Worshipful the Mayor of the London Borough of Bexley, Councillor Christine Catterall and
her consort to cut the ribbon and declare the coffee shop open. We were also joined at the opening by the new TKAT CEO Mr Hobby, TKAT Deputy CEO Mrs Harrison, TKAT Director of Learning for SEN Mrs Mackey and school governor for Post 16 and Careers, Mrs Petty.
Attendees were welcomed with a delicious coffee made by our Year 13 barrista students who are studying for their City & Guilds Barrista Skills qualification. The idea behind the coffee shop is to enable our students to work in a real world environment, learning not only barrista skills but also practice customer service, understand food and hygiene regulations and what working in retail will entail to give them practical real work experience to help them achieve employment after leaving school.
